Collection Information

The visual information in this section comprises a significant part of the Sports Hall's holdings, notably works from its artefacts, photo archives, and video library. Artefacts include objects relating specifically to Honoured Members, either acquired by the Sports Hall or donated by the Honoured Member directly. These might pertain to a specific accomplishment or to Canadian sport in general.

The photo archive represents a vast trove of the history of sports in Canada. From portraits of Honoured Members to game action photos of sports at many levels, this offers a veritable cornucopia of knowledge for the novice or expert and everyone in between.

Our film and video archives are being transferred and preserved on an ongoing basis. We have provided readers with a sample of our holdings, but please check back periodically to this section as will add to this regularly.

If you click on Honoured Members Memories Project, you will have the opportunity to watch and listen to exclusive interviews by athletes and builders with the Sports Hall. This section will be added to regularly, so please check back periodically for more clips.

The Sports Hall also houses several trophies which remain active and in circulation, including the Lou Marsh Award. Check out the Active Trophies section to learn more on these honours.
